Some TRAILS ARE STILL CLOSED TEMPORARILY, PLEASE READ EACH CLUB TRAIL CONDITIONS TO SEE WHICH AREA HAS LIMITED OR OPEN TRAILS. TRAILS ARE HARD AND ICY. Jan 29th cold weather has frozen most of the trail base and the light snow is still not enough for groomers to go out and fill in all of the washouts. most clubs will keep trails closed temporarily until we have the snow to fill in the washouts, we don''t want the permit buyer getting hurt this week. Please read the trail conditions reports for each club to see more detail on the condition of the trails. visit District One S.A. website for information about our area.

rCarletonPlace, Stittsville, North of Smiths Falls - Closed Temporarily
BEAST S.A TRAILS: TRAILS ARE CLOSED TEMPORARILY The cold has firmed up the base after the melt, but we need snow to fill in the washouts. Limited grooming has shown that the base is OK in the bush and on the trackbed(TCT), but there is lots of ice and washout hazards. Status previous to the rain on Jan 25th is below. Some grooming operations have restarted given cooler temps. We are still struggling with swamps and thin ice conditions so please continue to use caution. Check our trail conditions sections for trails that have been groomed. About 70% of our terrain is limited to open. The other sections remains closed and in general are not passable. For detailed trail by trail conditions, click here *Caution* The 6th Line water hazard on BEAST 305 between Carleton Place and Franktown has frozen enough for sled travel. Still use caution in this area. Grooming will restart once it is safe to do so. BEAST 305 also has a serious water hole that has opened in the ditch at Beckwith Boundary Road as you head to Rideau Trails in Marlboro Forest. We are presently working on a re-route and will mark trails with Closed Signs. Palettes have been placed in the water to assist crossing but use at your own risk. Main Trail E from Smiths Falls to K&P link to Perth has many water hazards and is unfit for grooming. E103 from Smiths Falls to Franktown is in the same shape. We are working to open these but need more cooperation with colder weather.
