WHERE DOES MY PERMIT MONEY GO?
Looking for the ultimate value in winter recreation? Buying a full season permit (Seasonal or Classic, depending on the age of your sled) provides you with unlimited access to as much as 30,000km of managed trails throughout the Province, all season long.
Maintaining snowmobile trails is an expensive business to the tune of $20 million per year. As a volunteer-led organization, we strive to put as much of the revenue from permit sales directly to where you see the benefit - the trails. In fact, the OFSC leadership in consultation with member organizations have been analyzing the way we operated with a critical eye over the last two years and the outcome is very positive for Ontario snowmobilers.
At the 2016 AGM, OFSC membership made a monumental decision that will significantly improve the way we do business. Following 24 months of consultations and briefings, the OFSC membership voted to implement the More on the Snow strategy laying the groundwork for the future of organized snowmobiling in Ontario.
Internally, there will be a lot of change in the way the OFSC snowmobile clubs deliver snowmobile trails, change which will take a number of years to implement. However, the message is clear - More on the Snow is about snowmobilers and providing consistently enjoyable riding experiences, no matter where you ride throughout the season....click here to read the full story.
Great news for Ontario Snowmobilers...
Over the last two seasons, the OFSC has made significant investments in the grooming fleet to ensure districts are equipped to provide quality trails to snowmobilers throughout the winter. Improvements to how we operate have contributed to increased funding both for trail infrastructure and grooming equipment.
- 16 new groomers purchased during the 2015-16 season
- The purchase of 19 new groomers is underway for delivery this season
With these purchases, districts are in a better position to decommission older and less reliable units, reduce repair costs on aging equipment and improve efficiencies for their respective grooming operations.
We would like to thank you for your continued support of the organized snowmobiling in Ontario. It is only with this support that we can ensure these wonderful trails will be available for everyone's enjoyment for years to come.
Your guide to over 31,000km of trails is mailed to you free each fall if you signed up for OFSC member benefits the previous season. This guide shows all of the TOP Trails in the province as well as club trails. First time buyers, who have signed up for OFSC member benefits will not receive the subscription until next season. Please contact the club from which the permit was purchased to request an OFSC Provincial Trail Guide.
