Cheryl has been snowmobiling since the young age of 3. Her family has always been very involved with their snowmobile club in Quebec. In the early 90’s, she got involved with her local snowmobile club, the Opeongo Snowbirds Snowmobile Club in Ontario, as a volunteer, brushing and clearing trails. In 2007, Cheryl decided to take on a more active role in the club and became the secretary/treasurer, then in 2009 became president. She then started taking on larger roles and responsibilities within Snow Country Snowmobile Association (SCSA) and District 6. Including Trail Patrol, Groomer Operator and other various executive positions.
At the club level, Cheryl has a very hands on approach with all aspects of trail maintenance. She has been an ambassador in social media and most importantly on the trails. She has successfully doubled the permit sales for the clubs and increased awareness to the general ridership of the area with the help of her small and effective District 6 team. Cheryl likes to focus on listening to snowmobilers to implement relevant and positive changes.
In addition to her passion for snowmobiling, Cheryl brings to the board her experience in sales, marketing, budget management, strategic direction and product allocation, forecasting and inventory management. In addition to her role as Governor, Cheryl holds the position of Chairman for the Whey Protein Research Consortium and plays a key role in reorganizing the business and governance structure.
