ZEN SLIPENKYJ

OFSC 2nd Vice President

My love of snowmobiling started at the young age of 12 riding my uncle’s 338 Free Air. These memories brought me into the early 90’s when I began volunteering with the Orangeville and District Snowmobile Association and that’s how it all began. I quickly became the permit coordinator, then VP, followed by President. It didn’t stop there! I also enjoyed my volunteer positions as groomer operator, coordinator, and a member of the trail crew installing stakes and signs.

In 2009, I was elected to the position of President of the grooming association and have been an OFSC Governor since 2017. In my current role as 2nd Vice President, I am focused on strengthening our committees and benefiting from the vast experience we have around the province. I am excited to work as a member of the Executive Committee and applying my Lean Certification to continually improved our organizational processes.

I have travelled most of the province by snowmobile and do an annual 6-day ride in Ontario each winter with my riding group which was established in 2002. My wife and I have been married for 36 years and we have 3 children. I spend most of the summer camping with my wife and our dog Snoopy, but like most of you, I’m always waiting for the first sign of winter!

My career has spanned more than 37 years with the same company and I’ve carried many different positions. For last 20 plus years, I have been responsible for the technology implementation which our customers use to sell our product.

Every day is an adventure at the OFSC and I embrace the challenges we face and the opportunities that lie ahead for the best that winter has to offer!
