April Volunteer Shout Outs

OFSC Monthly Volunteer Shoutout Banner - April 2026

Every ride. Every trail. Every season. It all happens because of our volunteers.
Our volunteers are the heart of Ontario's snowmobiling community - dedicating their time, skills and passion to keep our trails safe, our clubs strong, and our sport thriving. This year, Volunteer Canada is celebrating International Volunteer Year 2026 with the Ignite Volunteerism theory and in celebration, we'll be sharing all of the shout outs submitted by snowmobilers in appreciation for all of their hard work.

This month, we’re proud to share a snapshot of Volunteer Shout Outs submitted by snowmobilers in April as part of our year long Ignite Volunteerism commitment.

25 stories. One common thread:
Dedication that doesn’t ask for attention… but deserves it.

OFSC Volunteer Week 2026
  1. Brad V, Capreol Ridge Riders “Brad is the jack of all trades within our club, every year he's out checking our signage, packing swamps, grooming our link lakes trails. This year he successfully executed the task of setting up our new warming up shack with setting up a mountain of volunteers to get it to it's location. It took us 8 hours but he just never gives up. He fixes all of our equipment that requires repairs. He pulls our float for the Christmas parade. Thank you for everything you do!" ~ submitted by Amy V
  2. Mat V, Strathroy Snoblizzards “Stakes the trail all around the Strathroy area and does a great job doing it! Also takes the trail down after the season.” ~ submitted by Dave
  3. Snow Devils Volunteers “This is for all members - thank you for time and efforts so we could ride a long season.” ~ submitted by Lyne L
  4. Almaguin, all of them “They spent countless hours keeping the trails nice thank you so much for the great season!” ~ submitted by Dan S
  5. Robert B, Klondyke “As Robert's wife, I get to see alot that most don't. Robert became a volunteer because he was "volentold" by me 8+ years ago-haha. Robert is now the Groomer Coordinator, VP, groomer and Trail boss. Robert spends countless of hours on the phone making sure everyone is happy and coordinated. Spends alot of time staking our trails, making sure landowners are happy and Robert also always has his tools in the back of his snowmobile to make sure that the signs are visible and our trails are safe. Robert enjoys sharing this hobby with our kids often bringing them with him which is so important because I am sure they will be volunteers one day. It takes a village and we are grateful for Robert at Klondyke Trail Groomers and to those all who have helped and guide him.” ~ submitted by Jennifer B
