Trails
Ontario’s snowmobile trails offer endless adventure, connecting
riders to breathtaking landscapes, welcoming towns, and unforgettable
winter experiences.
The Interactive Trail Guide (ITG) and Go Snowmobiling Ontario App are now online for the 2025-26 season. As we begin the transition into winter, riders may notice that early-season information is still evolving. Across Ontario, clubs are actively preparing the trail network - finalizing land use permissions, brushing, signing, inspecting, and addressing pre-season maintenance. Every trail section requires documented permission from intersection to intersection before it can appear on the ITG or in the app, which means the network will continue to evolve over the coming days and weeks.
We encourage all riders to Know Before You Go by checking trail availability frequently, understanding that what you see today is only the starting point. The system will gradually fill in as clubs complete their work and trails become ready for snowmobiling.

What It Takes
The journey of thousands of kilometres begins with one step. Learn more about what it takes to make trails ride-ready.
Trail Availability
Notice for a legally compliant snowmobiler to access a recreational OFSC Prescribed Snowmobile Trail is provided through trail status reports known to the applicable Snowmobile Club and illustrated in the online Interactive Trail Guide. This is Ontario’s only province-wide snowmobile trail reference tool which provides real-time trail status information, on trail accessible services, fuel and other points of interest.
| STATUS | COLOR | DEFINITION |
| Available | The identified route is accessible with the understanding that the trail will likely vary considerably in quality, attributes and terrain over its length. | |
| Limited Availability | Access to the identified route is limited with marginal riding opportunities, so snowmobilers enter with the understanding that they should ride with extreme care and reduced speed. | |
| Unavailable | The identified route is not available at this time, with access prohibited, and entering any Unavailable trail on private property is trespassing. |
* It must be remembered and emphasized that snowmobiling is an off-road activity taking place in a natural and often unpredictable environment. Trail status reporting provides notice of trail route accessibility and is not an assurance of trail quality. Snowmobiling occurs in a wilderness, non-engineered environment and trail quality can significantly change over the course of the day for a number of reasons. Snowmobilers access trail routes at their own risk.
